In a statement released by Göztepe, it was stated: "A disciplinary process has been initiated by our club regarding our professional football A-team player Luka Gugeshashvili due to the events that occurred following the Gaziantep FK match played last night. Our player will train separately from the team until the disciplinary process is concluded."
"This is not being a fan"
In his post, Gugeshashvili stated: "I am a footballer who always fights on the pitch until the final whistle. Sometimes everything goes as we want, and sometimes it doesn't.
There are good days and bad days in football. But no one can question my fight, my character, and the effort I put in for this jersey. What you did today was not being a fan. Of course, there are also real Göztepe fans who truly love this club and stand by their team under any circumstances.
I have endless respect and love for them. Yes, perhaps we are going through a bad period right now. But since the first day I came to Göztepe, there hasn't been a single day where I didn't defend the crest and the name of this club.
In Georgia, in Turkey, at home, on the street, and on the pitch... I have represented and defended Göztepe with pride everywhere. To those hiding behind keyboards and talking from there, I will only say one thing: Life is long, the world is small. One day we will definitely meet on the street or somewhere else. With my endless love to the real Göztepe fans."
