A crisis involving Croatian star Luka Modric is unfolding at Real Madrid. According to reports in the Spanish press, the star footballer received a major offer from Saudi Arabia during the summer transfer window.
It was stated that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti spoke with Modric during that period and guaranteed that his role in the team would not change. Following this development, it was noted that Modric renewed his contract with Real Madrid.
Despite Carlo Ancelotti's word, it has been suggested that things have not gone as Modric wanted at Real Madrid this new season. It was claimed that the Croatian star has only been in the starting 11 three times this season and is unhappy with this situation.
ANCELOTTI: "A LITTLE ANGRY"
Carlo Ancelotti admitted after the Champions League match against Napoli that Luka Modric was "a little angry" due to the situation in question. It was emphasized that the Italian manager believes the season is long and that Modric's turn will come.
It was stated that Modric might leave the team due to his status as a substitute at Real Madrid. It was underscored that the 38-year-old footballer could be the second name after Karim Benzema to transfer from Real Madrid to Saudi Arabia. It was also recalled that Inter Miami, where Lionel Messi plays, is interested in Modric.
Modric, who has been wearing the Real Madrid jersey since 2012, has a contract with the Spanish giants that expires at the end of the season.
