In the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, Manchester City defeated their hosts Copenhagen 3-1.

The goals that brought victory to Manchester City were scored by Kevin De Bruyne in the 10th minute, Bernardo Silva in the 45+1st minute, and Phil Foden in the 90+2nd minute, while Copenhagen's goal was scored by Magnus Mattsson in the 34th minute.

DE BRUYNE SET A RECORD

Kevin De Bruyne became the fourth player to reach 10 goals in the knockout stages of the Champions League since the 2019/20 season, following Karim Benzema (17), Erling Haaland (13), and Robert Lewandowski (11).

Additionally, for Manchester City, Jack Grealish in the 10th minute and Bernardo Silva in the 78th minute were unable to complete the match due to injuries.

LAST PLAYED AGAINST GALATASARAY

Copenhagen played their last official match against Galatasaray on December 12. Due to the postponement of the leagues because of adverse weather conditions, Copenhagen played an official match after 62 days.

The second leg between Manchester City and Copenhagen will be played on Wednesday, March 6.
