Medal standings finalized at the Olympics: Where does Turkey rank?

The medal standings for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games have been finalized. The United States became the country with the most medals, while China took second place. Turkey, meanwhile, delivered a performance below expectations at the Paris Olympics.

Medal standings finalized at the Olympics: Where does Turkey rank?

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the USA, which won a total of 126 medals, topped the country rankings. The USA successfully concluded the games with 40 gold, 44 silver, and 42 bronze medals.

China, which won the same number of gold medals as the USA, placed second with a total of 91 medals, including 40 gold, 27 silver, and 24 bronze. Japan, which won two gold medals on the final day of the Olympics, rose to third place with a total of 20 gold, 12 silver, and 13 bronze medals.

Australia finished the games in fourth place with 18 gold, 19 silver, and 16 bronze medals, thanks to its superior performance in swimming and water sports. 

Host nation France won a total of 64 medals, with 16 gold, 26 silver, and 22 bronze.

TURKEY FINISHED 64TH 

Turkey finished the games in 64th place. Of the 8 medals won by Turkey, 3 were silver and 5 were bronze.

In the women's boxing category, Buse Naz Çakıroğlu in the 50kg division and Hatice Akbaş in the 54kg division, as well as the national team consisting of Yusuf Dikeç and Şevval İlayda Tarhan in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event, won silver medals.

In wrestling, Taha Akgül in the men's freestyle 125kg and Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu in the women's 68kg; in boxing, Esra Yıldız Kahraman in the women's 57kg; in taekwondo, Nafia Kuş Aydın in the women's +67kg; and in archery, the Men's Recurve Team consisting of Mete Gazoz, Muhammed Abdullah Yıldırmış, and Ulaş Berkim Tümer finished the games with bronze medals.
