Merih Demiral accepted into FIFA Players Executive Programme

The statement released by the TFF included the following:

"Our national team player Merih Demiral has become one of 40 players worldwide selected for the FIFA Players Executive Programme, organized by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

Our 27-year-old national player has also made our country proud by becoming the first person from Turkey to be accepted into this program. The Players Executive Programme aims to enhance players' competencies in the off-field aspects of football and prepare them for high-level positions in football management.

In this newly created program by FIFA, participants will receive training through online meetings and will also attend two in-person meetings at FIFA's headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. Participants in the inaugural program include world-famous footballers such as David Luiz, Casemiro, Rodrigo de Paul, Javi Martinez, and Jamie Vardy.

Speaking to the federation's official website regarding his acceptance into the Players Executive Programme, Merih Demiral said: "I am extremely happy to have been accepted into the program after successfully passing the preliminary interviews with the FIFA delegation. I believe I am the youngest footballer accepted into the program. Regardless of your age, you must think about and plan for your life after your active football career. I find it extremely valuable that this program gives me the opportunity to improve myself in the off-field side of football and the chance to exchange ideas with colleagues from different continents."
