The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Central Referee Board (MHK) has responded to allegations that MHK President Ahmet İbanoğlu called the VAR Center during the Fenerbahçe - Kasımpaşa match.
While refereeing decisions continue to be debated in the sports community in the Süper Lig, a striking claim has been made regarding the Fenerbahçe - Kasımpaşa match.
It was alleged that MHK President Ahmet İbanoğlu called the VAR Center during the match.
Following the claim that dominated the agenda, a statement was issued by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Central Referee Board (MHK).
The statement made on the TFF website is as follows:
"The statement made on a YouTube channel that 'the MHK President called the VAR Center during the match' has no connection to reality whatsoever.
It is prohibited for referees assigned to the VAR staff to enter the VAR Center with mobile phone devices during matches. The mobile phone devices of the assigned referees are turned off and kept in a locked cabinet before entering the VAR Center.
Furthermore, the VAR center is kept under control 24 hours a day with continuous audio and video recording.
Necessary legal actions are being taken regarding this and similar broadcasts aimed at misleading the public.
We present this to the information of the public with our respects."
