Montella's statement regarding Berke Özer leaving the camp
National Team Head Coach Vincenzo Montella has made a statement regarding goalkeeper Berke Özer, who left the training camp without permission.
In his statement, Vincenzo Montella said that Berke Özer had also opposed technical decisions and spoke as follows:
"We are representing the honor of our country here. You cannot just leave the camp without informing anyone. If you do this, there will unfortunately be consequences."
Montella added, "No one here has a guarantee of playing. If I had to give an example regarding this, he could have talked to Mert Günok and asked for his advice.
We have to protect this family environment. Before respect for me, respect for the group is very important.
Therefore, I have an expectation from Berke to explain what he did; I would like him to say, 'I did these things.'" he stated.
