After leaving Fenerbahçe and signing a two-year contract with Benfica, Jose Mourinho took charge of his new team for the first time in an away match against AVS. While Benfica won the match with a clear 3-0 scoreline, it was Mourinho's action in the final moments of the game that made headlines.
In the 93rd minute of the match, the Portuguese manager attempted to dive for the ball coming toward him like a goalkeeper. This unexpected move caused surprise in the stands, and Mourinho's return to the bench with a smile drew widespread attention in both the Portuguese press and on social media. Mourinho's behavior was received with humor in the football world.
