Murat Sancak: 'Club presidents should listen to VAR recordings'

Adana Demirspor President Murat Sancak made statements regarding VAR recordings and the general situation of his team.

In his statement to CBC Sport, Murat Sancak said, "We finished the Super Lig in 4th place last year. This year, despite it being our first time in Europe, we performed well but were unfortunately eliminated on penalties. It becomes a problem when many players stay on the team for a long time. We wanted to renew the team. We will be even better with new, agile players."

Speaking about Shahrudin Mahammadaliyev, who conceded a faulty goal in the Alanya match and was substituted early, Sancak said, "It is normal for good goalkeepers to concede faulty goals sometimes. It is not right to judge a goalkeeper based on one mistake. He is a good goalkeeper and one we have expectations for. He will start in the 11 in the upcoming match as well. We signed a player from Kazakhstan. Why shouldn't we make another transfer from Azerbaijan?"

Regarding the announcement that VAR recordings will be released, Murat Sancak stated, "Releasing VAR recordings is not enough. I think that when there is a problem in a match, the presidents of those two clubs should listen to all the VAR recordings. Sharing all recordings with the public would create a lot of controversy. Our goal is to go to Europe. The top 5 teams go to Europe. I think if we start winning, we can go to Europe."

Regarding Hikmet Karaman, Sancak said, "One of the best coaches in the Turkish market is currently at the head of the team. His job is not easy either. We have built a new team. I think if these young players are blended and a good unity is created, it will be successful. Making that comeback away in the Alanya match is not something every team can do."
