Murat Sancak reacts to 'you sold the match' accusations: Who sold the match?
Former Adana Demirspor president Murat Sancak responded harshly to criticisms following the team's 6-1 home defeat to Gaziantep FK in the 36th week of the Super Lig. Sancak stated, "While we are making so many sacrifices, there are those who come out and say we sold the match. Whoever says we sold the match has sold their own mother and sister. Can such a thing be possible?"
Adana Demirspor's former president Murat Sancak has broken his silence and made statements following the heavy defeat against Gaziantep FK.
In his statement, Murat Sancak indicated that they did not accept Hikmet Karaman's resignation, saying, "Do you think we are not saddened by the result in the Gaziantep match? We are devastated too. After the match, Hikmet Karaman came and submitted his resignation. Metin Korkmaz came and said he did not want to continue. We did not accept Hikmet Karaman's resignation. He has made so many sacrifices; I am saying it clearly, we will extend his contract for another year."
Stating that fans should support the team, Sancak said, "I have made sacrifices from my family, my business, and my money until today. If all the businessmen in Adana came together, they could not put up the money I have invested. We do not receive a single penny of support from Adana. The provincial sports directorate charges 1 million TL for stadium rent in Samsun and Sivas, but they charge us 14 million TL. Is there such a thing? We pay 400 thousand TL to a security firm for just one match. However, we look at the ticket revenue for the Antep match, excluding season tickets, and it is 200 thousand TL. Who pays the difference? I am saying it clearly, if there is someone who says they will come and pay the debt, let us transfer the club immediately. But no one will come forward. While we are making so many sacrifices, there are those who come out and say we sold the match. Whoever says we sold the match has sold their own mother and sister. Can such a thing be possible? Criticism has a limit. Giresunspor, which was promoted to the league with us, was relegated to the second league; Altay was relegated to the second league, and Bursaspor to the third league. Eskişehirspor went to the amateur league. Support the team."
"WE ARE NOT MAKING TRANSFERS"
While stating that they will not make any transfers for the next season, Murat Sancak said, "You know we received a transfer ban. We were going to open it at the end of the season and make additions to the squad. However, after such harsh criticisms, we will not open the transfer window, and we will not make any transfers. There are players whose contracts are ending and who will leave. Apart from that, there are players we will sell. We are the bosses. We are not making transfers."
HARSH REACTION TO "YOU SOLD THE MATCH" COMMENTS
On the other hand, Murat Sancak reacted very harshly to the "You sold the match" comments that followed the 6-1 defeat to Gaziantep FK. Sancak said, "I repeat to those who do not understand the context of what I said in the chat room and what I meant; to those who say 'You sold the match, how much did you sell it for' etc., I say you are a dog, a dishonorable person; if you have sold your wife and sister, then we have sold it too. Other than that, we have no resentment or grievance against anyone; they know who they are. Do not comment without fully understanding and without knowing; you will be committing a sin."
