STATEMENT FROM THE MANAGEMENT
Edgardo Novic, an executive at Penarol, one of Uruguay's most established clubs, has officially announced their interest in Muslera. In a statement to El Espectador Deportes, Novic noted that Head Coach Diego Aguirre wants to see Muslera in the squad.
In his statement, Novic said, "We held a meeting with Diego Aguirre about Muslera last Monday. He told us, 'I really want him to come.'"
Penarol Head Coach Diego Aguirre, meanwhile, left questions from the press about Muslera unanswered following the Velez match. Aguirre stated that it would not be right to speak based on transfer speculations and closed the subject.
