According to the statement made by the Turkish Athletics Federation, Ramil Guliyev ran his first race of the season in Dubai following an injury. The national athlete, who took to the track in the 200 meters, finished third with a time of 20.77.
National athlete Salih Teksöz also secured a bronze medal in the 800-meter race with a time of 1.48.09.
In the statement, Ramil Guliyev said, "I can say that the first race of the season after my injury went well. There is a new system for qualification. We will collect points in the upcoming races for the Paris quota. There are 5 more races after this one. I believe that we will secure the 2024 Paris quota with the points we will collect, God willing."
Turkish Athletics Federation President Fatih Çintimar also congratulated the national athletes on their success.
