National basketball player İlkan Karaman has passed away

Former national basketball player İlkan Karaman has passed away in a traffic accident in Datça.

Following Karaman's death, the Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe clubs issued messages of condolence.

In a post on its social media account, Beşiktaş stated, "We have learned with great sadness that our national basketball player İlkan Karaman, who wore our jersey during the 2016-2017 season, has passed away. We wish God's mercy upon İlkan Karaman and extend our condolences to his family, loved ones, and the basketball community."

İlkan Karaman, who began his basketball career in the TOFAŞ youth system, played for Pınar Karşıyaka, Fenerbahçe, Acıbadem University, Beşiktaş, İBB, Büyükçekmece, Cholet, Antibes, Petkim Spor, Yalovaspor, Manisa BB, and most recently, Çayırova Belediyesi.
