National motorcycle racer Deniz Öncü to compete in the Qatar leg of Moto3
National motorcycle racer Deniz Öncü will take to the track in the Qatar leg of the Moto3 World Championship.
According to the statement from the Turkish Motorcycle Federation, the 19th race of the championship will be held at the Lusail International Circuit.
Deniz Öncü, who is aiming for a top-three finish in the championship with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team, will participate in free practice sessions tomorrow. The national motorcycle racer will attempt to set the best time in the qualifying rounds on Saturday, November 18. The 18-lap race will start on Sunday, November 19, at 17:00.
Deniz Öncü currently sits in 5th place in the riders' standings of the championship.
In the statement, the national motorcycle racer said, "The Malaysia leg ended unexpectedly. I feel strong enough to fight for victory in Qatar. We know that the straights are our weak point. That is why I will need to do my best when cornering. We are ready to fight again and we will enjoy the weekend in Lusail."
