2 gold medals from national para powerlifter Abdullah Kayapınar!

National athlete Abdullah Kayapınar achieved the success of winning 2 gold medals in the men's 49kg category at the Para Powerlifting World Cup held in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the statement made by the Turkish Weightlifting Federation, Abdullah Kayapınar, who took the podium in the men's 49kg category on the second day of the event in Dubai—which also serves as a quota qualifier for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games—became the gold medal winner with a lift of 174 kilograms. Kayapınar also achieved the success of winning a second gold medal by recording the best result in the individual rankings.

The statement included remarks from Turkish Weightlifting Federation President Talat Ünlü, who presented the medal to the national athlete after the competition, stating, "It makes us very happy to see our athletes winning medals in Dubai; I congratulate Abdullah Kayapınar, who made everyone here listen to our National Anthem by winning 2 gold medals, and our coaches."

In the event tomorrow, Faruk Öztürk will compete for a medal in the +107kg category.
