National Team beats USA with two goals in friendly match: Arda and Kerem secure the win
Preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying group matches starting in September, the National Football Team faced the United States (USA) in a friendly match.
The National Football Team defeated the United States 2-1 in an away friendly match.
The match, played at Pratt & Whitney Stadium, began with a shock goal. The USA took a 1-0 lead in just the 1st minute with a goal by Jack Glynn.

Turkey's response to this goal came in the 25th minute. As the USA attempted to clear the ball from their defense, a clearance by Cardoso struck the knee of the pressing Arda Güler and found the back of the net, bringing the score to 1-1.
Two minutes after this goal, the Crescent-Stars took the lead. Following up on a shot by Oğuz Aydın that deflected off the US defense, Kerem Aktürkoğlu struck from inside the penalty area to put Turkey ahead 2-1.

The first half of the match concluded with a 2-1 lead for the National Team.
There were no goals in the second half, and the National Football Team left the pitch as the winners with a 2-1 scoreline.

Facing the USA away for the third time, Turkey succeeded in defeating its opponent on foreign soil for the first time in history.

Turkey will face Mexico in its second friendly match of the US camp on Wednesday, June 11, at 04:00 Turkish time.
