National volleyball player Hande Baladın was threatened by Mustafa Neşeli, who said he would "throw acid in her face." The prosecutor's office has issued a decision of non-prosecution regarding the complaint filed by the Eczacıbaşı Sports Club concerning the incident.
National volleyball player Hande Baladın had announced that she was being subjected to threats on her social media account and went to the prosecutor's office, stating, "I do not have life safety. I am afraid." Baladın had filed a complaint, stating that she was threatened with the words, "I will throw acid in your face."
8 YEARS AND 9 MONTHS IMPRISONMENT REQUESTED
Police apprehended Mustafa Neşeli in Bakırköy. Mustafa Neşeli was arrested by the court he was brought before on August 1 and sent to prison.
In the indictment prepared by the prosecutor's office, it was requested that Mustafa Neşeli, who used the phrase "I will throw acid in your face" against Hande Baladın, be sentenced to between 2.5 years and 8 years and 9 months in prison for the crime of "chain-linked armed threat."
"I AM A BIPOLAR PATIENT" DEFENSE
Neşeli, who appeared before the judge in recent months, said, "I am a bipolar patient, I regret what I wrote, I apologize to the complainant," and was subsequently released. The court also decided that the defendant, Mustafa Neşeli, should obtain a mental health report and sent the file to the conciliation bureau.
ECZACIBAŞI FILED A COMPLAINT
The Eczacıbaşı Sports Club, where Baladın plays, also filed a complaint regarding the matter. In the petition submitted to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was explained that Mustafa Neşeli had threatened the sports club's executives and Hande Baladın, who is part of their organization, on a social media platform with millions of users.
DECISION OF NON-PROSECUTION ISSUED
According to the report by Deniz Yusufoğlu from Sabah Newspaper, the petition included the suspect's threatening posts directed at Baladın. The petition emphasized that Mustafa Neşeli's statements regarding raiding the company building affected the freedom of work of the sports club management and those within the organization. The investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office resulted in a decision of non-prosecution for the file.
