National wrestler Alperen Berber becomes world runner-up in Albania
At the U23 World Wrestling Championships held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, national wrestler Alperen Berber, an athlete from the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, became the world runner-up.
Competing in the 82-kilogram category and advancing to the final after eliminating several tough opponents, Alperen Berber lost to neutral athlete Aues Gonibov in the final to become the world runner-up. Having participated in the U23 World Championships in Tirana with the title of U20 World Champion, Berber has now brought the title of world runner-up to both Samsun and Turkey.

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club President Süleyman Demirtaş congratulated the successful national athlete, stating, "Our national wrestler Alperen Berber, who previously gave us great pride by becoming a world champion, has now given us another reason to be proud by becoming the world runner-up. I congratulate him and his coach."
