According to a report in the Daily Mail, it was noted that the league management wants to prevent the possibility of star players leaving teams due to the point deduction penalties imposed on clubs.

For this reason, it was noted that introducing a luxury tax for teams, as is the case in the NBA, is being considered, and different models are being discussed among the clubs.

The report stated that many teams are open to the idea of a luxury tax. The approval of 14 clubs is required for the rule change to take effect. It was reported that the Premier League management would distribute the revenue generated from the luxury tax to teams in the league that comply with financial regulations.

EVERTON AND NOTTINGHAM FOREST PENALIZED

This season in the Premier League, Everton and Nottingham Forest received point deductions for violating financial rules.

Everton initially had 10 points deducted, but 6 points were later reinstated.

Nottingham Forest was given a 4-point deduction.
