New contract for Okan Buruk from Galatasaray: Details revealed
The contract of successful manager Okan Buruk, who led Galatasaray to the championship last season, had previously been renewed for one year. However, his expiring contract is now set to be extended again. Following the experienced coach's success, his salary, which was 18 million TL for this season, was increased to 30 million TL, and a new two-year contract will be signed. The successful manager's new salary will be around the 50 million TL level.
It has been learned that the Galatasaray management took action immediately following the end of the league regarding the expiring contract of manager Okan Buruk, who reached the championship for the second consecutive time.
According to a report by Sabah Gazetesi; the first move by Dursun Özbek, who was re-elected president with a record number of votes after surpassing Süheyl Batum in the elective general assembly held last Saturday, will be to have Okan Buruk sign a new contract.
Okan Buruk, who achieved historic victories with Galatasaray—the club where he was raised in the youth academy—and won 6 Süper Lig titles, 1 UEFA Cup, and 1 UEFA Super Cup, has also been the architect of two championships as a manager.
A new two-year contract will be signed with the experienced coach, whose salary was increased from 18 million TL to 30 million TL this season. The successful manager's new salary will approach the 50 million TL level.
The administration led by Dursun Özbek, who was elected until May 2026, will work with Okan Buruk throughout their term.
