New development in Diego Maradona's death: Cocaine allegation

New medical reports regarding the death of World Cup winner and legendary football figure Diego Maradona indicate that his death may be linked to cocaine use.

It is stated that the sudden heart attack that occurred in November 2020, which led to Maradona's passing, may have been caused by a "toxic substance."

Maradona, who struggled with cocaine addiction for a long time, had undergone brain surgery two weeks before his death.

Following Maradona's death, a lawsuit was filed against eight doctors and nurses accused of negligence in his patient care.

According to the charges, as Maradona's health condition deteriorated, the doctors and nurses left him in pain for hours. These eight healthcare workers, including psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, could face up to 25 years in prison if found guilty.

'ONE NATURAL, THE OTHER A TOXIC SUBSTANCE'

Cosachov's lawyer stated regarding Maradona's death, "There could have been two causes: one natural, and the other a product of the ingestion of a toxic substance."

Argentina mourned for Maradona, who lost his life at the age of 60 in a house near Buenos Aires. Within the framework of the investigations launched following the legend's death, raids were conducted on the homes and offices of his doctors.

A panel of 20 medical experts was appointed as part of the investigation.

The trial process in Buenos Aires is expected to last several months, and more than 200 witnesses will testify.
