Neymar returns to the pitch after 1 year
Brazilian star Neymar, who plays for Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, has returned to the pitch 369 days after suffering a severe injury.
In the AFC Champions League Elite West Group matchday 3, Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal faced United Arab Emirates team Al Ain away from home.
Al Hilal, managed by Jorge Jesus, won the match 5-4 and increased their points tally to 9. Brazilian star Neymar also returned to action in this match. The 32-year-old footballer had been substituted after suffering an injury on October 18, 2023, during his home country Brazil's 2026 World Cup South American Qualifier match against Uruguay.
Following medical examinations at the hospital, it was announced that Neymar had suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, keeping him sidelined for a long period.
After completing his treatment and beginning training, Neymar made his first appearance of the season in the AFC Champions League match.
