In the 30th week of the Süper Lig, Beşiktaş was defeated 2-1 at home by Antalyaspor.
In a season where they have failed to meet expectations and have fallen far behind in the title race, Beşiktaş's Portuguese manager Fernando Santos has also been unable to put a stop to the poor run of form.
Following the match, sports commentator Nihat Kahveci evaluated the game.
Speaking on the YouTube channel Nutspor, Kahveci criticized Beşiktaş manager Fernando Santos.
Here are Kahveci's comments:
"Beşiktaş is a monument to consistency. The consistency that Beşiktaş players have shown this year regarding doing things poorly is unmatched by any other team. Rashica wrote and played the end of the film in a way no one could have predicted.
"IF THEY BRING HIM TOMORROW, I'D SAY OKAY"
Coach Sergen should take the footage of this goal they scored. It was a textbook goal; this is football, this is playing out from the back. Beşiktaş conceded a magnificent goal. If they bring Coach Sergen right now, tomorrow, I would say okay. With all due respect to the Antalyaspor community, of course.
I don't remember a Beşiktaş that played this poorly, but this situation is slowly starting to reflect on the management as well...
FERNANDO SANTOS CLAIM
They were late with Valerien Ismael; I'm saying it again, it's not working with Santos, and it doesn't look like it will."
