Notable resignation at Galatasaray
Ahmet Eler, a member of the Board of Directors of Galatasaray Sportif AŞ, has resigned due to allegations made against him.
In a statement released by Galatasaray, it was stated: "Our company's Independent Board Member, Mr. Ahmet Eler, resigned from his position on 09.02.2026. In order to restore the minimum number of independent members on our company's Board of Directors, the necessary appointment to the vacancy created by Mr. Ahmet Eler's resignation will be made in accordance with Article 4.3.8 of the Corporate Governance Principles included in the annex of the Capital Markets Board's Communiqué No. II-17.1 on Corporate Governance, and developments will be announced to the public separately."
Ahmet Eler stated, "I would like to inform you that I have requested to be relieved of my duties on the Galatasaray Sportif AŞ Board of Directors until the process is completed, so that the Galatasaray Sports Club, of which I am a member, is not associated with these speculations in the slightest."

According to the allegations, Eler received money from a fan in exchange for VIP services for the Manchester City match and used it for himself and his son. Eler stated that the allegations were untrue, announced that a refund had been made, and filed a criminal complaint.
