Nottingham Forest appeals points deduction!
Nottingham Forest, a team in the English Premier League, has decided to appeal the 4-point deduction imposed for violating the league's financial rules.
Nottingham Forest has appealed the points deduction imposed by the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest, which was penalized for violating the league's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), stated in an announcement: "The club confirms that it has lodged an appeal today against the four-point sanction."
With this penalty, the red-and-white club has fallen into the relegation zone with 9 weeks remaining, currently sitting in 18th place with 21 points.
If Nottingham Forest's penalty is overturned or reduced, they will move out of the relegation zone, and Luton Town, with 22 points, will fall into it instead.
HOW MUCH DID NOTTINGHAM FOREST SPEND?
According to the PSR, teams are allowed a maximum loss of 105 million pounds over a three-year period. However, because Nottingham Forest spent two of those three financial years in the Championship, they were permitted a loss of 61 million pounds in their first season in the Premier League.
The red-and-white team, which has spent approximately 250 million pounds on 43 players since their promotion to the Premier League in May 2022, also saw their high wage policy play a significant role in receiving the points deduction.
In the Premier League this season, Everton was also deducted 10 points for violating financial rules, a penalty that was reduced to 6 points following an appeal.
