Once a giant-killer in the Süper Lig: Denizlispor's natural gas supply cut off

The natural gas supply to Denizlispor's Haluk Ulusoy Facilities, located in the Merkezefendi district, has been cut off due to the club's unpaid debts. The natural gas distribution company had called on the club to pay an outstanding bill of approximately 2 million 870 thousand liras accumulated over the last 22 months. As a result of the debt remaining unpaid, the gas supply to the facilities was cut off on February 19.

In a statement released by the club, it was stated that Denizlispor had been "left abandoned," and that there was no access to food, hot water, or heating at the facilities. The statement emphasized that while the players sweat on the pitch, they struggle to avoid freezing by wrapping themselves in blankets in the evenings. The club described the situation as "a shameful situation not just for a club, but for any human being."

Denizlispor management reacted to the club being left in a difficult position due to debts, stating the following:

"We call out to those who want to finish us off: you will not succeed. This crest and these colors will not bow to your games. You may ignore us, turn your backs on us, or try to silence our voice, but we will not give up."
