Osimhen's statement on Juventus: Everyone wants to play there
Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen shared his thoughts ahead of the UEFA Champions League knockout round play-off second leg match against Juventus.
The yellow-reds' Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen touched upon the importance of the match, saying, "We have only one thing on our minds. We are aware that we won the first leg 5-2.
We are also aware that we are facing Juventus. In matches like this, everything is decided on the pitch. We know how we need to approach such games. The next 90 minutes will be long for us. The conditions will also have a significant impact. Tomorrow's match will be difficult. We have made our preparations. We aim to play offensive football in the second leg just as we did in the first."
Addressing his health status, Osimhen said, "I would like to thank our medical team regarding my injury. They gave me great support. Thanks to this support, I recovered in a short time."
Stating that he supports the team in different ways, the Nigerian striker added, "There are times when I score in 10 consecutive matches. Sometimes I contribute to the team with the assists I make. Scoring goals is an important motivation for me. Making assists or helping my teammates in defense also satisfies me. What is important for me is to reflect the club's goals on the pitch in the best way possible. I continue to work very hard. I am trying to fulfill what Galatasaray expects from me."
"Maybe I could have played"
Emphasizing that Juventus is a very important team, the Nigerian striker noted, "Juventus is one of the biggest teams in world football history. I have played at a very high level. I have played with many important players. If Galatasaray hadn't stepped in, maybe I could have played there. Where I am is what matters. If it becomes possible to come to Italy, I would be happy to play there. Juventus is one of the clubs I could associate myself with. I love the club I am a part of. I am connected to Galatasaray with my heart. Who knows what will happen in the future. Everyone wants to play for Juventus."
