Paraguayan footballer spits at Messi: They played together in La Liga

Argentina faced Paraguay in the World Cup qualifiers. Argentina won the match 1-0 with a goal from Nicolas Otamendi.

Paraguay national team player Antonio Sanabria committed a scandalous act. Sanabria spat at Messi in the 84th minute of the match. However, Messi did not see it. The two players only glared at each other. The two players had previously faced each other in La Liga.

According to the report in Haber Global, Messi learned that Sanabria had spat at him after the match ended.

When asked this question at the press conference, he gave the following response:

"The truth is that I didn't see him spit at me. In the locker room, they told me that a Paraguayan player had spat at me. I don't know who the player who spat is. They told me who it was, but I don't care about it. It's better to leave this incident here."
