Trabzonspor's Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu experienced both the joy of a goal and the concern of an injury in a short span during the Conference League Matchday 1 game against KuPS Kuopio.
The Bordeaux-Blues started the match quickly. Onuachu put Trabzonspor ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 3rd minute. However, the experienced forward, who tried to continue playing while limping after the goal, dropped to the ground off the ball a few minutes later.
After receiving treatment from the medical team, Onuachu attempted to test himself but was unable to continue. Trabzonspor's coaching staff made a substitution in the 10th minute, with Franculino Dju entering the pitch in place of the Nigerian player.
It was observed that Onuachu, while coming to the sidelines, pointed to his upper left calf area to the medical staff. It was reported that he was trying to explain that he had experienced an issue in that area following a physical challenge during the goal-scoring play.
