Paul Onuachu returns to Trabzonspor
Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, who played for Trabzonspor on loan during the 2023-2024 season, has rejoined the claret-blue team. Fans welcomed their former striker with great enthusiasm.
Onuachu, who was transferred from the English club Southampton FC, arrived in Trabzon with his family at around 23:20 on a private flight from Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Onuachu, who appeared before the fans wearing the claret-blue team's new white jersey for the season, was greeted with flowers. The experienced forward, who appeared happy amidst the enthusiastic crowd with his family, answered questions from members of the press.
Stating that he was welcomed with great affection when he first arrived on loan, Onuachu said, "I felt that love when I came on loan. Now I am here for many years. I have unfinished business with this city and this team. I saw the fans' love when I first arrived, and I see the same love today. I didn't look at other offers because I wanted to be here. I am here to reciprocate this love. My goal is to score as many goals as I can. We want to do great things this season with my team and our coach."
While there was occasional congestion due to the intense interest, Onuachu had difficulty boarding the vehicle waiting for him. The fans' displays of affection continued at the airport for a long time.
