The Portuguese Football Federation has reached a decision in the disciplinary process conducted against Cristiano Ronaldo. The federation has imposed a 30-day suspension and a 255-euro fine on the 41-year-old footballer who left the Portuguese national team camp.

It was stated that the process began following the match in which Portugal defeated Norway 2-1 at the end of September. It was reported that Ronaldo, who remained on the bench during the match, had a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus regarding playing time.

According to Ronaldo's claim, Jesus told him before the match that he would play for about half an hour. Although the experienced footballer was sent to warm up during the match, he was not brought into the game. It was also noted that Ronaldo argued the head coach had promised to explain the matter at a press conference but failed to do so.

As tensions escalated, Ronaldo left the national team camp before Portugal's match against Denmark. In a statement he made later, the star player apologized to his teammates and fans, acknowledging that his decision should not go without consequences.

It was also stated that Ronaldo requested a penalty appropriate for him, given that he is the national team captain and a player held up as an example. The federation had announced about a week and a half ago that an official disciplinary investigation had been launched into the footballer.

It was stated that the suspension will be applied retroactively from September 30, the date Ronaldo left the camp. Therefore, the path appears clear for the Portuguese footballer to be eligible to play again in the national team's next match on November 14.

One of the most notable aspects of the decision was the amount of the fine. Considering the high income Ronaldo has earned throughout his career, the 255-euro fine is considered symbolic.
