PFDK announces: Suspensions for 2 Fenerbahçe players stayed

It has been announced that the suspensions of Jayden Oosterwolde and İrfan Can Eğribayat, who were referred to the PFDK following the Süper Lig match against Trabzonspor, have been stayed.

The statement made by the PFDK is as follows:

"The appeal by Fenerbahçe Futbol A.Ş. regarding the PFDK's short decision dated 03.04.2024 concerning its players Jayden Quinn Oosterwolde and İrfan Can Eğribayat has been reviewed. It was observed that the PFDK announced the short decision subject to the appeal around 14:30, and that Fenerbahçe A.Ş. submitted a petition to the Arbitration Committee at 15:41 requesting an urgent meeting due to the Fenerbahçe A.Ş. - Yukatel Adana Demirspor A.Ş. match taking place today (03.04.2024) at 20:30 and the imposition of a 1-official-match ban on the players.

In the application petition, it was stated that a detailed appeal petition would be submitted later; subsequently, in the petition submitted at 16:41, it was noted that the PFDK's reasoned decision had not yet reached the parties, and that this would violate the right to a fair defense. It was requested that, without prejudice to all rights of defense, the execution of the penalty be urgently stayed under Article 20 of the TFF Arbitration Committee Instruction, on the grounds that the execution of the penalty would be completed with the Fenerbahçe A.Ş. - Yukatel Adana Demirspor A.Ş. match to be played today (03.04.2024) at 20:30, thereby causing irreparable harm. As a result of the deliberation;

Considering the time between the aforementioned match time and the time of the application to our Committee, the fact that the penalties given to the players consist of a 1-official-match ban, the fact that the penalty would be executed upon the playing of said match, and the fact that the PFDK's reasoned decision has not yet been sent to the Arbitration Committee and the relevant parties, and that it is legally impossible for the Arbitration Committee to review and rule on a reasoned decision that does not legally exist, it has been decided unanimously to stay the execution in accordance with Article 20 of the Arbitration Committee Instruction until a decision on the merits is made in the file, following the arrival of the PFDK's reasoned decision to our Committee and the submission of the applicant club's detailed objections against the reasoned decision."
