PFDK hands down suspension to Jose Mourinho

TRABZONSPOR A.Ş. has been sanctioned following the TRABZONSPOR A.Ş.-FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. Trendyol Süper Lig Şamil Ekinci Season match played on 03.11.2024, due to ugly and improper chants by its fans. In accordance with Article 53/3 of the Football Disciplinary Instructions (FDT), the electronic tickets of spectators located in the VESTEL GÜNEY KALE ARKASI LOWER STAND SOUTH LOWER K, J, I, NORTH KALE ARKASI LOWER STAND NORTH LOWER J, I, K, and TRABZONSPOR FAN TOKEN EAST LOWER STAND EAST LOWER J blocks have been blocked, preventing their entry to the next home match of the club.

In the same match, TRABZONSPOR A.Ş. was fined 252,000 TL due to field incidents caused by its fans.

In the same match, TRABZONSPOR A.Ş. was fined 47,250 TL for unsportsmanlike conduct as a team.

Regarding the statements made by TRABZONSPOR A.Ş. President ERTUĞRUL DOĞAN to members of the press after the match, although the referral was made under Articles 38 and 41 of the FDT, it was determined that when the content of the statements is evaluated as a whole, no specific insult was directed at a particular individual, and the targets of the statements remained ambiguous within the context of the entire statement. Considering that the action should be evaluated as unsportsmanlike statements, and noting that the expressions used were contrary to sports ethics and the spirit of fair play, and were of a nature that could offend TFF officials, a fine of 465,000 TL was imposed in accordance with Article 38/1-a of the FDT.

12- FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. administrator ALİ ACUN ILICALI was fined 600,000 TL, the lower limit specified in the relevant article, in accordance with Article 38/4-a of the FDT, due to Unsportsmanlike Statements made on the club's official website after the TRABZONSPOR A.Ş.-FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. Trendyol Süper Lig Şamil Ekinci Season match played on 03.11.2024, which exceeded the limits of freedom of expression and were aimed at casting a shadow over or discrediting the impartiality of referees and other match officials.

FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. technical director JOSE MARIO DOS SANTOS MOURINHO FELIX was sanctioned with a 1-OFFICIAL MATCH BAN from entering the locker room and the bench, and a fine of 58,500 TL, due to unsportsmanlike conduct towards opposing team fans.

Although a referral was made to our Committee regarding FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. technical director JOSE MARIO DOS SANTOS MOURINHO FELIX for unsportsmanlike conduct towards an opposing team athlete, it was decided that THERE IS NO GROUNDS FOR PENALTY in accordance with Article 75/2 of the FDT, following the precedent-setting decision of the TFF Arbitration Committee dated 11.10.2024, numbered E.2024/403 – K.2024/396.

When the content of the statements made by FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. technical director JOSE MARIO DOS SANTOS MOURINHO FELIX in the flash interview and press conference after the match is evaluated as a whole, he was fined 900,000 TL in accordance with Article 38/4-a of the FDT for Unsportsmanlike Statements that were contrary to sportsmanship, sports ethics, or the spirit of fair play, and were aimed at damaging the reputation of the TFF, devaluing Turkish football, and casting a shadow over or discrediting the impartiality of referees and other match officials.

FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. goalkeeper coach SANDRO ZUFIC was sanctioned with a 2-OFFICIAL MATCH BAN from entering the locker room and the bench, in addition to the match he was already suspended for due to receiving a double yellow card, and a fine of 74,250 TL, for failing to comply with the restriction in accordance with Articles 82/b and 50/1-c of the FDT, and by applying Article 13 of the FDT.

FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. coach SALVATORE FOTI was sanctioned with a 2-OFFICIAL MATCH BAN from entering the locker room and the bench, and a fine of 117,000 TL, due to unsportsmanlike conduct towards opposing team fans.

Although a referral was made to our Committee regarding FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. athlete EDIN DZEKO for his Unsportsmanlike Statements in the flash interview after the match, it was decided that THERE IS NO GROUNDS FOR PENALTY as the statements in question remained within the limits of freedom of expression and did not constitute a disciplinary violation.
