Premier League investigates Rizespor - Shelvey transfer

The transfer process of English player Jonjo Shelvey, who joined Çaykur Rizespor from Nottingham Forest at the beginning of the season, has been placed under investigation by the Premier League administration.

According to a report by the British outlet Joe, it has emerged that the Shelvey-Rizespor transfer, which Nottingham Forest announced as a loan, was actually a permanent transfer.

Although Nottingham Forest announced the transfer as a loan, the official Premier League website listed Shelvey as having transferred to Çaykur Rizespor on a permanent basis.

FOREST EXCEEDED LIMITS

FIFA regulations allow top-tier clubs to have a maximum of seven players out on loan at any given time. Nottingham Forest had already exceeded this limit prior to the Shelvey transfer.

Following the investigation launched by the Premier League, if Forest is found guilty of violating the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules, they could face a points deduction.

In contrast, the Forest management has stated that there were no irregularities in the transfer.
