Trabzonspor held the jersey launch for the 2024-2025 season. Speaking at the event, Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan made a statement regarding the Nwakaeme rumors.

OUR COACH HAD A REQUEST

In his statement, Ertuğrul Doğan said, "Our vice president, Mr. Nevzat, is handling the matter regarding Anthony Nwakaeme. Mr. Abdullah Avcı had a request for his return."

Continuing his statement, Ertuğrul Doğan said, "There was a conversation between our coach and Tony. Following this conversation, the Trabzonspor Club, through Mr. Nevzat, began negotiations. We have reached a certain stage. Mr. Nevzat is dealing with the transfer while also performing his Hajj pilgrimage. Because he is on Hajj, we believe the transfer will have a positive outcome," he stated.

Transferring to Trabzonspor from the Israeli team Hapoel Beer Sheva at the beginning of the 2018-19 season, Anthony Nwakaeme won 1 league championship and 1 Turkish Cup title during his 4 seasons with the burgundy-blue team.

The Nigerian star footballer scored 41 goals and provided 36 assists in the 120 league matches he played for the Black Sea team.
