Prison shock for Dani Alves!
Prosecutors have requested a 9-year prison sentence for Daniel Alves, who is being held in custody on charges of sexually assaulting a woman in Barcelona.
Prosecutors have requested a 9-year prison sentence for Brazilian footballer Dani Alves, who is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at an entertainment venue in Barcelona, Spain, and has been held in prison since January 20.
The Barcelona Court prosecutor's office, which opened the case after completing the investigation and gathering sufficient evidence following the statements and expert reports obtained in the Alves case, has requested 9 years in prison and 150 thousand euros in compensation for the Brazilian footballer on charges of sexual assault.
The prosecution also requested that measures be taken for Alves to be kept under judicial supervision for 10 years after completing his sentence and to remain at least 1 kilometer away from the locations where the woman in question is present.
BACKGROUND OF THE INCIDENT
Alves, who is accused of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old woman at a nightclub in Barcelona on the night of December 30, 2022, was taken into custody after arriving in Barcelona from Mexico on January 20 and was subsequently arrested by the court.
The 39-year-old Alves, who changed his statements three times and finally stated that he "admitted to having sexual relations but lied in his initial statements to hide his infidelity from his wife and to protect her," was transferred from Brains 1 Prison to Brains 2 Prison on January 23 for security reasons.
Alves' model wife, Joana Sanz, also announced that she had separated from the Brazilian footballer following the sexual assault allegations.
Following his arrest in Barcelona on sexual assault charges, the contract of Alves, who played for teams such as Sevilla, Barcelona, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and Sao Paulo during his career, was terminated by the Mexican team UNAM, where he last played.
