The 26th Laureus World Sports Awards, one of the most prestigious honors in the sports world, were presented at a ceremony. Paris Saint-Germain, which left its mark on the year with the trophies it won in 2025, was named the "Laureus Team of the Year."
The 26th Laureus Awards Ceremony, one of the most prestigious organizations in the sports world and considered one of the greatest honors for sports legends and elite athletes from the past to the present, was held yesterday.
At the ceremony, which was broadcast worldwide and followed by millions of sports fans on social media, the world's most successful athletes in both men's and women's categories were awarded. French giant PSG became the winner of the 'Team of the Year' award.
PSG, which became Europe's number 1 by achieving an unforgettable victory against Inter in the Champions League, crowned the season it dominated in France in 2025 with Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophee des Champions victories.
Carrying its success graph into the new season, the French team won the UEFA Super Cup and also added the FIFA Intercontinental Cup to its trophy cabinet by defeating Flamengo in December. PSG became the fifth club to win the Laureus Team of the Year Award, following Manchester United (2000), Barcelona (2012), Bayern Munich (2014 and 2021), and Real Madrid (2025).
