Qarabag draws with Leverkusen at home
Azerbaijani representative Qarabag FK hosted Bayer Leverkusen, the most in-form team in Europe this season, in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16.
Qarabag FK finished the first half of the match played at Tofiq Bahramov Stadium with a 2-0 lead, thanks to goals from Benzia in the 26th minute and Juninho in the 45+3rd minute.
Bayer Leverkusen reduced the deficit with a goal from substitute Florian Wirtz in the 70th minute, and then secured a 2-2 draw with a goal from another substitute, Schick, in the 90+2nd minute.
The return leg of the tie will be played in Germany on March 14, and the winning team will advance to the quarterfinals.
