Reaction from Fenerbahçe player left out of squad

Slovenia player Miha Zajc, who was not included in the EURO 2024 squad, expressed his reaction to this decision in a statement made on his social media account.

In his statement, Zajc said, "Of course, I could have made a different choice. However, today I have to accept this decision, take my share of the responsibility, and move forward with my head held high. "The last few days have not been easy. When things like this happen, I think it is best for a person to calm down and think with a clear head.

First of all, I want to thank the entire professional staff for all the years we spent together. Things did not always go smoothly. These are beautiful memories that I will remember with a smile on my face. However, there were also difficult moments and decisions that will follow us for the rest of our lives. Still, I know that we have learned a lot from each other over the years.

What I wrote above does not mean that I agree with the technical staff's decision. Of course, I could have made a different choice. However, today I have to accept this decision, take my share of the responsibility, and move forward with my head held high. If football has taught me one thing, it is to respect each other's decisions, even if I don't understand or agree with them. Sometimes you have to lose to understand the value of things.

Based on what I have written, I would like to remind you where you are right now, how we got to this point, how many years this team has been developing, and what kind of relationships and friendships we have built throughout all these years. Do not take what you have for granted. Relationships and friendships make a difference in life and will continue to do so.

I am proud to have been a part of this story, but right now my path is going in a different direction. But I believe that we will come together again.
