Fenerbahçe Club made a flash statement following the penalty imposed on Ali Koç by the PFDK.
In the statement made, it was noted: "Today, the Turkish Football Federation Professional Football Discipline Committee (PFDK) has decided;"
"It has been decided that FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. President ALİ YILDIRIM KOÇ shall be punished with a 45-DAY BAN FROM THE SPORT and a FINE OF 210,000 TL in accordance with articles 36/1-b, 38/3, and 10/2 of the FDT (Football Disciplinary Instructions) due to his unsportsmanlike conduct and statements regarding Referees and Other Match Officials made during a TV program he attended on 04.10.2023."
While emphasizing that our club will file the necessary appeals regarding this decision;
By taking steps without addressing the essence and focus of the problems in Turkish football,
we would like to bring up a matter regarding those who act with the reflex of punishing those who experience injustice and voice these injustices.
The main focus and agenda in Turkish football;
is the situation that football is currently in,
the focus should be on the impact of referees and unfair officiating on matches, and the fact that the system is becoming more dysfunctional every day.
The sole need of Turkish football is fair referees and an equal approach to every team!
The lightest penalties given in the past to severe accusations and threatening rhetoric are on record as part of this unfair approach.
The stance displayed today has not been surprising to us either.
As Fenerbahçe Sports Club, our position on this matter is irreversible and clear.
We present this to the public's information," the statement concluded.
