Reduction for Fenerbahçe from the TFF!

The fine imposed by the TFF on Fenerbahçe, which faced Galatasaray in the 2024 Super Cup match and walked off the pitch in the 2nd minute, has been reduced from 4 million liras to 400 thousand liras.

The statement made by the TFF is as follows: 

"The appeal of Fenerbahçe Futbol A.Ş. against the decision of the PFDK dated 11.04.2024 and numbered E.2023-2024/1049 - K.2023-2024/1320 has been examined. It was observed that Fenerbahçe Futbol A.Ş. attorneys Av. Doğukan Şenol and Av. Ali Topuz were present at the hearing held on Friday, 26.04.2024, and their oral statements were taken. As a result of the deliberation;

It was understood that there was no inaccuracy in terms of proof, legal qualification, and determination of the penalty regarding the decision to penalize Fenerbahçe Futbol A.Ş. with a (3-0) forfeit defeat in accordance with Articles 24/1-a and 23/4 of the Football Competition Instruction due to the abandonment of a match that had already started; therefore, it was decided by unanimous vote to reject the application and uphold the decision,

 Regarding the 4,000,000.00 TL fine imposed in accordance with Article 35/1 of the FDT (excluding the compensation to be determined by the TFF in accordance with Article 24/1-a of the FDT); it was decided by unanimous vote regarding the proof and by majority vote, with the dissenting opinion of some members regarding the determination of the penalty, to correct and uphold the decision by accepting that the disciplinary violation corresponding to the act is unsportsmanlike conduct within the scope of Article 36 of the FDT, and by moving away from the lower limit at the discretion of the board, considering the manner, place, and time of the violation, in accordance with Article 36/1-ç of the FDT, to set the fine at 400,000.00 TL."
