Referee Elif Karaarslan responds to allegations regarding sexual content video: 'Crying and whining are not my style'
The Turkish Football Federation had banned observer Orhan Erdemir and referee Elif Karaarslan, who was alleged to have been in a relationship with him, from their duties. Referee Karaarslan stated that she will seek her rights through legal channels.
A video allegedly showing 61-year-old observer Orhan Erdemir and 24-year-old referee Elif Karaarslan in a relationship last season had circulated on social media. Following the video, the Turkish Football Federation took action and banned both individuals from their duties for life.
Following the events, Elif Karaarslan made a notable post on her social media account. Karaarslan included the following statements in her post:

"I will have a long road ahead of me legally, but we will overcome it in the strongest and most solid way possible. I look forward to your full support and love during this process. Crying, whining, and being upset are not things I do; that is not who I am. I will stand behind my case until the end. I am just one of those they are trying to harm, I hope it will be the last..."
