German referee Felix Zwayer, who officiated the Turkey-Portugal match, drew criticism for his decisions during the game.
In the second match of Group F at the 2024 European Football Championship, Turkey and Portugal faced off at BVB Stadion. The match was officiated by Felix Zwayer from the German Football Association.
Zwayer was assisted by Stefan Lupp and Marco Achmüller, also from Germany. The fourth official for the match was Jesus Gil Manzano from the Spanish Football Federation.
Felix Zwayer drew criticism for his decisions against Turkey during the match. Turkish fans expressed their reaction to Zwayer with whistles and chants.
For the national team, Abdülkerim Bardakcı, Samet Akaydin, and Zeki Çelik received yellow cards in the Portugal match.
