Referee outcry from Kayserispor

Kayserispor was defeated 3-1 at home by Trabzonspor in the 25th week of the Süper Lig. Following the match, a statement released by the Kayserispor Club expressed reaction toward referee Cihan Aydın and VAR referee Özgür Yankaya. The statement from the club is as follows,

"As the Kayserispor Club, we have been following the referee decisions made against our team in recent weeks with concern and anger. Unfortunately, in the match played this evening, we were once again faced with officiating that disregarded our efforts. The decisions made and not made by center referee Cihan Aydın and VAR referee Özgür Yankaya have ignored the sweat and toil of our players who fought on the pitch. These errors, which cast a shadow over the justice of football, have now exceeded the limits of 'human error' and turned into a systematic victimization. It is in the public memory that VAR referee Özgür Yankaya previously made a serious error in a match where he served as the center referee by validating a goal that was clearly offside. The fact that similar controversial decisions are being experienced again today, despite him sitting in the VAR chair, further shakes confidence in the Turkish football refereeing system. Kayserispor is a club that tries to win by fighting on the pitch and stands tall through its own efforts. However, the referee errors experienced for weeks are now pushing the limits of our patience. It is unacceptable for a club's efforts to be disregarded so easily. We invite the Turkish Football Federation and the Central Referee Board to take immediate action regarding these events. The fact that referee errors consistently result in consequences against the same club cannot be explained as a coincidence. We will not allow anyone to usurp the efforts, sweat, and rights of Kayserispor. We respectfully announce to the public that we will follow this process to the end and defend our club's rights on every platform."
