Resignation statement from İsmet Taşdemir: It's the easiest thing
Following a 1-point draw against Mardin 1969 Spor, Sivasspor manager İsmet Taşdemir stated after the match, "We have saddened our fans. They called for my resignation. Resignation is the easiest thing. I am here because our management trusts me. We are continuing on our path."
In the 5th week of the Trendyol 1st League, Sivasspor drew 2-2 with Mardin 1969 Spor, and manager İsmet Taşdemir made evaluations at the press conference held after the match.
Taşdemir said, "Today's match was like a black-and-white film. We played a poor first half. We reacted in the second half. 5 weeks have passed, and unfortunately, we haven't met with a victory yet. We are playing well in patches.
Unfortunately, we couldn't reach the result. We have saddened our fans. They called for my resignation. Resignation is the easiest thing. I am here because both the player group and our management trust me. We are continuing on our path. They should be a little patient. If we cannot fix this, that will be the end of the road. I hope we can get the team back on track as soon as possible.
For my part, I expect more support. We are already in a difficult process. We must embrace each other during our bad days. We know the mistakes we have made ourselves.
Without making any excuses, if there is a mistake made so far, if a victory has not been achieved, I am the sole person responsible for it. I will do my best to fix it. We have been here for 2 months, and I haven't left the facilities.
Even when we play well, it's not enough. I was invited to resign, and that is very normal. They should be a little patient. If I cannot bring the team to the point I trust, I will do what is necessary," he said.
