A new resignation has occurred at the Turkish Football Federation. Yusuf Büyük, Deputy Chairman of the TFF Foreign Relations Committee, announced that he has stepped down from the position he had held since July 30, 2024.
In a statement on his social media account, Büyük noted that the controversial atmosphere recently experienced in Turkish football must come to an end and that a sense of trust must be strengthened once again.
Stating that a decision by the current administration to hold elections would be an important step, Büyük conveyed that he supports the approach advocating for "paving the way for a new era through elections" in the evaluations within the Board of Directors.
In my opinion, what football needs is not the prolongation of debates, but the manifestation of a will that will restore trust.
Emphasizing that positions are temporary, Büyük noted that serving Turkish football is not limited to holding a post, but requires responsibility regarding the peace, reputation, and future of football.
Büyük concluded his statement with the words, "My hope is that Turkish football will move beyond personal and institutional debates and reunite around unity, trust, and common goals."
