Reuniting: Beşiktaş in final stages of Steven Berghuis transfer
It is reported that Beşiktaş is continuing efforts to sign Steven Berghuis, a former player of Giovanni van Bronckhorst. The transfer is said to have reached the final stages.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who was brought in as head coach, and having already reached an agreement with Gabriel Paulista, Beşiktaş is now planning its third move for the right-wing position.
According to a report by Sözcü, the main target for the black-and-white club in the transfer market is Ajax's 32-year-old experienced star Steven Berghuis. According to the report, it is claimed that efforts are underway regarding the transfer of Berghuis, who has one more year left on his contract with the Dutch team.
It is stated that transfer fee negotiations between the clubs have reached the final stage. The report further notes that Berghuis is also supporting Beşiktaş in order to bring the figures down to a reasonable level.
SAME AGENTS
It has emerged that Beşiktaş's new head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Steven Berghuis share the same agent. It is stated that Guido Albers, the agent for both individuals, is supporting the negotiations. Berghuis and Van Bronckhorst previously worked together at Feyenoord during the 2016-17 season.
The star footballer played in 29 matches last season, recording 8 goals and 10 assists.
