Rıdvan Dilmen’s take on Galatasaray: If Osimhen leaves via a swap, there will be an extraordinary congress
Rıdvan Dilmen highlighted Galatasaray's gameplay issues following their draw against Çorum FK and reacted sharply to the potential swap deal rumors regarding Osimhen.
Former footballer and commentator Rıdvan Dilmen evaluated the match where Galatasaray drew 2-2 with Çorum FK on the program %100 Futbol Referans, broadcast on TV8. Dilmen stated that the yellow-red team has been experiencing an ongoing problem in terms of gameplay, regardless of the score.
Stating that Galatasaray is not playing well despite creating chances, Dilmen expressed that the team has been struggling with rhythm since the latter part of last season. Noting that Okan Buruk might want to surpass the success bar set both during his own tenure and that of Fatih Terim, Dilmen said it is not easy to convey this goal to the players at the same level at all times.
TRANSFER MESSAGE FOR GALATASARAY
According to Dilmen, wing performances were one of the decisive problems for Galatasaray in the Çorum FK match. Arguing that Sane and Barış Alper Yılmaz played one of the worst matches of their careers, Dilmen stated that the two players lost a total of 36 balls. Criticizing the performances of Sallai and Jakobs as well, Dilmen emphasized that a center-forward like Osimhen needs crosses from the flanks.
Stating that Okan Buruk also sent a message through his player substitutions, Dilmen said the technical staff's moves pointed to the squad depth. Recalling Buruk's post-match transfer statements, the experienced commentator said that Galatasaray is in search of a number 10 and a winger, but the process requires patience due to high transfer fee demands.
Dilmen stated that the Galatasaray management is not rushing into transfers, taking the fixture into account, but that this week has become more critical following the Çorum FK draw.
EMPHASIS ON OSIMHEN
Rıdvan Dilmen's most striking remark came regarding Victor Osimhen. Arguing that the Nigerian striker is a player who changes the balance in the league, Dilmen commented, "If Osimhen had worn the Fenerbahçe jersey last season, who would have been the champion? Fenerbahçe would have. Osimhen has disrupted the balance in this league."
Touching on Arsenal's interest in Osimhen, Dilmen argued that Galatasaray sending the player away via a swap would create a major crisis within the club. Dilmen said, "Even if they give them Martinelli, whoever they give, if Galatasaray gives Osimhen to Arsenal via a swap, there will be an extraordinary congress. They cannot give Osimhen away."
Stating that Osimhen is happy at Galatasaray, Dilmen expressed that the player's departure is a separate issue, but that the swap formula would be difficult for the yellow-reds to accept. Dilmen also said he sees Osimhen among the strikers who can be discussed at the same level as Erling Haaland and Harry Kane in world football.
Making a brief assessment of Arda Güler on the program, Dilmen said that while Arsenal is interested in the national footballer, Real Madrid is the biggest club in football, and he does not think Jose Mourinho would let Arda go.
TRABZONSPOR COMMENTARY
In his assessment of the Kasımpaşa-Trabzonspor match, Rıdvan Dilmen touched upon the squad planning of the burgundy-blues. He stated that Trabzonspor lost important players like Oulai, Zubkov, and Augusto, but in return, they are investing in young footballers with significant transfer revenues.
Dilmen said that with the Salah move, the goals at Trabzonspor have been moved to a different point. Despite this, he argued that the burgundy-blues need reinforcements in the midfield to be competitive in the championship race.
Expressing that Paul Onuachu should stay with the team, Dilmen said the Nigerian striker is a great strength for Trabzonspor. Pointing out the importance of Batagov recovering as soon as possible, Dilmen said Trabzonspor should sign two players for the midfield before signing two forwards.
