National wrestler Rıza Kayaalp won the silver medal in the 130kg Greco-Roman style at the championship held in Romania.
National wrestler Rıza Kayaalp won the silver medal in the 130kg Greco-Roman style at the European Wrestling Championships held in Romania.
In the event held in the capital Bucharest, Rıza Kayaalp faced individual neutral athlete Sergei Semenov of Russia in the 130kg Greco-Roman final.
Defeated by his opponent via pin, Rıza Kayaalp took home the silver medal. Rıza, who holds 12 European titles, thus remains tied with Russian wrestler Aleksandr Karelin in the number of championships.
Bronze medals in the same weight class were won by Beka Kandelaki of Azerbaijan and Danila Sotnikov of Italy.
