Real Madrid has provided the expected clarity regarding Kylian Mbappé's injury. It was reported that the French star suffered a strain in the posterior capsule of his left knee and is expected to be away from the pitch for approximately two weeks.
While initial assessments raised the possibility of a more serious injury, the situation appeared milder for Real Madrid following the definitive diagnosis. This development brought relief to the Spanish club, especially ahead of the El Clásico match against Barcelona on October 25.
Mbappé sustained the injury during France's Nations League match against Turkey. The star footballer, who scored the only goal of the match, experienced a problem with his knee during the goal-scoring play. The lack of contact with an opponent in the play initially increased concerns about a serious injury.
Although the superstar attempted to continue playing, it soon became clear that it was not possible. Mbappé was replaced by Désiré Doué approximately five minutes later.
Following the match, head coach Zinédine Zidane announced that Mbappé would leave the national team camp, stating, “He is not in good condition. We will not take any risks. He injured his knee while striking the ball, and his condition does not look good enough to continue.”
Due to this injury, Mbappé will not be able to play in France's remaining matches during the international break. The star player is expected to miss the Nations League matches against Belgium and Italy.
On the Real Madrid side, the main focus has shifted to the player's return process to the club schedule. The expectation of a recovery period of approximately two weeks indicates that the possibility of Mbappé being ready for the Barcelona derby remains strong.
